A Nation At War : Operation Sindoor (My Thoughts)

This morning (7/5/25), I woke up to my Father saying, '' Get up, looks like there's going to be a war''.

As I cleared my disoriented mind and rushed to watch TV, a part of me felt like we did Balakot again. Only that it was nothing like Balakot. This time it was much more serious. and we named it ''Operation Sindoor''.

There was a moment of pride for the armed forces of this country, who have laid down their lives time and again to save us all from the PAKISTANI TERRORIST. There was a sense of respect for the Prime Minister for making sure a response was finally given for the aftermath of Pahalgam.

However, once the euphoria died down, a sense of dread set in. The question lingering at the top of mind was, ''How many of our people died?''. Please, don't let there be another Abhinandan today.

Relief flooded in slowly as I learned more about the attack, that only terror hideouts had been attacked in Pakistan, other nations are being briefed about it,  and we didn't cross the LoC (Not that it matters as Pakistan has unilaterally revoked the Shimla Agreement).

India has been acting responsibly as it has always been.

Yet between all these, there is a continuous Psy Ops that's been going on all over the media.

News channels are flashing news, only to say that it was actually fake. Twitter, Reddit and every other forum seem to be filled with misinformation.

I learn about Rafael being shot down by the Pakistani Army, only to learn it's an old picture from 2019. Suddenly, I see pictures of dying people, only to learn they are from Gaza or from a fire incident.

All the Pakistani handles are claiming as if they have already reached New Delhi, and some Indian handles are busy claiming that Pakistan is already finished.

Well, what goes through my mind as a mere spectator at this point is that it's confused and has no idea whether any news coming out of the war zone is even true.

The Indian army wouldn't like to divulge certain information for obvious security reasons, and the media seems (social, print and digital) seems to be peddling news, only to debunk it themselves.

The scale of misinformation is threatening and alarming.

The tech has made it easy to spread misinformation. If this is how wars will be fought in the future, then those owning these media channels will be the real winners.

As I write this, I pray for the safety of Indian soldiers and the people of Jammu, who are at the frontline today, taking the hits before it can touch us.

I hope they are guided by Dharma and protected by Krishna just as Arjuna was in the battle of Kurukshetra.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!
